Don Mattingly's goatee: Will it stay or will it go?

April 25, 2011 |  3:21 pm

Lk8cfjnc Rod Barajas doesn’t want Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly to shave his goatee. Mattingly’s wife does.

“I know who wears the pants,” Mattingly said, laughing. “It’s not Rod.”

The growth of Mattingly’s facial hair
has coincided with the Dodgers’ recent 6-2 run. They face the Florida Marlins at Sun Life Stadium on Monday in the first game of a three-game series.

Joking aside, Mattingly said he wouldn’t shave if the Dodgers continue to win games at this rate.

Like Barajas, General Manager Ned Colletti said he doesn’t want Mattingly to shave.

“I hope he resembles King Solomon by the time we get to October,” Colletti said.
