Frank McCourt says he is not concerned about losing control of Dodgers

With his ownership of the Dodgers under legal and financial strain, Frank McCourt said Wednesday he is not worried about losing control of the team.

On the first day of the baseball owners’ meetings, McCourt did not stop to speak to reporters. As he walked, however, he addressed the question of whether he had the same concern that other owners have privately expressed about his ability to retain control of the Dodgers.

‘No, I don’t,’ McCourt said.

He then joined the rest of the owners in a private dinner.

McCourt met last week with executives in the commissioner’s office, presenting them with his legal and financial strategies for retaining his ownership of the Dodgers amid a costly divorce and a stiff debt. The meeting was requested by McCourt, and the executives are not believed to have given him assurances of support.
