Even in their finest moment, Giants’ fans can’t help thinking about L.A.

OK, give them credit. Painful as it may be, I’ll at least pretend to be gracious.

The San Francisco Giants are the World Series champions.

Words never before written in the history of mankind.

They deserved it, earned it and all that. Hope they get another one in 56 years.

Still, my favorite part of San Francisco celebrating its championship Monday came in the postgame on-the-field interviews, when the Giants fans who remained chanted:

‘Beat L.A.! Beat L.A.!’

Nice to know we’re always in your thoughts, even when your attention should be light-years away.

One Giant -- sorry, didn’t catch which one -- seemed a tad annoyed by the fans’ focus, stopping in mid-radio interview to snap at the crowd:

‘We didn’t play L.A.’

Seems not even a title can eliminate that Southern California envy.
