The Dodgers made it official Tuesday, putting shortstop Rafael Furcal on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to last Wednesday, while he tries to rehab his strained left hamstring.

As reported by Dylan Hernandez Monday night, the team purchased the contract of Nick Green from Triple-A Albuquerque, where the 31-year-old shortstop was hitting .219 in 20 games.

As expected, the Dodgers moved pitcher Cory Wade from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day list to make room for Green on the 40-man roster. Green last season played 104 games with the Boston Red Sox before undergoing surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back.

Furcal, who was batting .309 and had eight stolen bases, was injured last Tuesday while trying to leg out a grounder in the first game of a doubleheader against the Mets. He saw some improvement a few days later after undergoing a platelet-rich plasma injection to promote healing, though it wasn’t enough to keep him off the DL.
