So you’re wondering if Andre Ethier can do it again? Can match or surpass his career-year from last season?

Maybe a tad concerned he’s reached his personal ceiling?

Relax, he not only can do it again, there’s a real chance he could surpass it.

Which would be no modest accomplishment. Last year Ethier had 31 home runs, 106 RBI, 42 doubles and scored 92 times. And then there were those six walk-off hits.

Not easy to improve on those numbers, but there is reason to believe he can. Are you ready for Andre Ethier, superstar?

Understand, he is just entering his prime. He doesn’t turn 28 until Saturday. This will be just his fifth season in the majors.

And despite all those glorious numbers, there is one mark he can definitely improve upon: He hit a modest .272 last year. This from a guy who was a career .299 hitter entering last season.

There’s room to grow there, and most of it against left-handers.

Being a left-handed hitter, matching up against lefties is not supposed to be his forte. But until last year, he was hitting a very respectable .281 against lefties.

Last season he hit just .194 vs. left-handers.

Monday he got off to a decent start, doubling in three at-bats vs. Pirates left-hander Zack Duke.

I’m thinking he will improve significantly against lefties this season. If he does, and his other numbers old, you’re looking at superstar results.
