Well, there goes the budget for the L.A. Times Test Kitchen. One of the top 20 vote-getters in our first Battle of the Burgers is the ‘I Foie’d the Law’ burger, which calls for a slab of foie gras on top of a beef-and-pork burger. It was proudly entered by Trevor Myers of Vista.

In all, we received nearly 90 recipes. Times Test Kitchen manager Noelle Carter and her fleet of kitchen interns are already heading to the market to buy the ingredients to begin testing. We’ll publish our favorites in print on June 30, just in time for your 4th of July barbecue planning.
