At the moment, we’re shooting some more ‘Eat Beat’ video segments -- recipe demonstrations that air Wednesdays and Fridays toward the end of the 1 p.m. news on KTLA-TV Channel 5. We shoot the segments every other Friday, highlighting current recipes in the Food section as well as favorite Culinary SOS requests.

At left is a first-hand view from the ‘hot seat.’ I’m just getting ready to start taping a recipe demonstration for asparagus with hazelnuts and seasoned currants. Michael Joseph James, our cameraman, is giving me the cue that we’re rolling.

In addition to the asparagus, Food editor Russ Parsons and I will be taping segments for tortino di fagiolini, Swedish cream and crisp duck with rhubarb-ginger confit.

The demonstrations should air within the next couple of weeks. But no worries if you can’t catch the news -- the demonstrations can be found online on our Food home page, and also air with KTLA news on the weekends.
