Let’s see if you can follow my train of thought. All Hail Caesar. Beware Ides of March. Look out behind you, Caesar! Caesar salad.

That’s why your recipe for today, the Ides of March, is the Caesar salad with crunchy croutons.

This popular salad is on the menu at Pizzavino707, which reader Carol Bloom of Woodland Hills describes as a lovely little restaurant on the plaza in Sebastopol, Calif., which serves it with ‘the most delicious crunchy croutons I’ve ever tasted.’ At Bloom’s request, Times Test Kitchen manager Noelle Carter coaxed the recipe out of Pizzavino707, and you can watch this video of her making the salad here.
