Patina will launch a guest winemaker series Thursday, with Emmanuel Kemiji of Miura Vineyards the first to be featured. And though the winemaker will change with each subsequent event, Patina sommelier Sylvestre Fernandes will remain a constant as he brings in guests from his favorite vineyards around the world for each dinner.

The winemakers will talk about the goings-on at their vineyards and describe the winemaking process as dinner guests partake in a paired tasting menu created by chef Tony Esnault.

Thursday’s menu costs $130 per person and includes marinated hamachi paired with Miura Chardonnay, Talley Vineyard, Arroyo Grande Valley 2009; foie gras ravioli paired with Miura Pinot Noir, Pisoni Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands 2008; prime beef tenderloin and glazed short ribs paired with Almus Cabernet Sauvignon, Caldwell Vineyard Napa 2006; and black truffle Brie de Meaux paired with Clos Pissarra, El Mont, Priorat 2007.
