3 food events you should know about: Priyani’s hoppers at Angeli; David Kinch cooks at Melisse; Steve Cooper makes dinner at the Redwood Bar

Tonight: Street Gourmet L.A.‘s Street Food Mondays return to Angeli Caffe, featuring the Sri Lankan cuisine of Priyani Dissanayake, whose restaurant, Priyani Oriental Café in Northridge, has tragically closed. So get Dissanayake’s hoppers (pancakes made with fermented rice flour) and string hoppers (rice noodle patties) while you can. 5 to 10 p.m. Angeli Caffé, 7274 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, (323) 936-9086.

Tonight: Chef David Kinch of Manresa in Los Gatos cooks at Mélisse in Santa Monica. The seven-course dinner is $150 and includes dishes such as strawberry gazpacho with fig leaf custard and flowering coriander; abalone jelly with trompette squash and cucumber noodles; and John Dory with summer truffles, egg yolk and Easter egg radish. Thursday: Steve Cooper, formerly of Cafe Stella and currently of the band Spirit Animal, is cooking dinner again (with Jake Eaton of Froma on Melrose) at the Redwood Bar downtown. See the menu above. A special dessert will be prepared by Jessica Koslow of the Village Bakery in Atwater Village. Wine pairings from Matthew Kaner of Bar Covell in Los Feliz.
