The long-delayed Olive Kitchen + Bar is scheduled to open today, located inside the Grafton on Sunset Hotel. Restaurateur Greg Morris imagined Olive in the same WeHo casual-dining vein as his other L.A. spots, the Belmont, Oakfire Pizzerias, Spanish Kitchen and the Oaks Gourmet.

It’s Cal-Italian meets Sunset Strip, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Capri frittata with blue crab, mozzarella cheese, asparagus and cherry tomatoes is on the breakfast menu along with Meyer lemon ricotta crepes with fresh berry sauce. For lunch, panini with prosciutto di Parma, smoked mozzarella and roasted peppers, or maybe crispy brick-roasted chicken with grappa rosemary jus. The dinner menu includes wrapped pancetta prawns, made-to-order lasagna Bolognese, and Tuscan prime bone-in ribeye with truffle butter.

Distinguishing features in the dining room include an olive burl wood bar in the center of the space and a panoramic chalkboard. There is, of course, patio dining along the boulevard, as well as balcony tables overlooking the hotel’s pool.
