Breadbar launches its Hatchi Mix series, in which guest bartenders are invited to mix drinks for a once-a-month cocktail party. On May 6, Devon Espinosa of the Tasting Kitchen in Venice presents his Vive le Cocktail menu of classic drinks such as the Sazerac, Martinez and the Last Word.

Hatchi Mix -- an extension of the bakery’s Hatchi Guest Chef Series -- takes place the first Thursday of every month from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. with an all-new cocktail menu of eight drinks priced at $8 each (hatchi means eight in Japanese). Other L.A. bartenders on the schedule include Joel Black of Caña Rum Bar at the Doheny, featuring rum cocktails on June 3; and Julian Cox of Rivera, who’s showcasing tequila on July 1.
