Jean Francois Meteigner, chef-owner of La Cachette in Century City (pictured), says he is planning to open LC Bistro this summer in downtown Santa Monica.

The 5,000-square-foot Cal-French bistro will be located in the Maguire Office Building on Ocean Avenue, across from the Merigot Hotel. Expect red banquettes, dark wood floors, hazelnut wood walls and marble-top tables, and French bistro posters from the ‘20s -- designed by Mark R. Stevens from Architecture & Light in San Francisco.

Meteigner is working on his modern bistro menu, giving his dishes a test run at 14-year-old La Cachette, available via prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus. (See sample menus after the jump).

La Cachette, 10506 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, (310) 470-4992.
