‘South Park’ is heading to Broadway this week, with a stop at the hit musical ‘Wicked.’ The episode, titled ‘Broadway Bro Down,’ airs on Wednesday on Comedy Central and features a musically themed plot, organizers announced on Monday.

In the episode, Randy and Sharon -- the parents of little Stan Marsh -- step out of their provincial shell and take a trip to Denver to see a hit musical. Randy isn’t exactly enthusiastic about the excursion, but once he sees the show, he becomes a musical convert. The couple decides to travel to New York, where they see every show on Broadway.

Wednesday’s episode will feature the usual collaboration between Trey Parker and Matt Stone. But organizers said they will be joined in the story room by Robert Lopez, who partnered with the comic duo on their Broadway hit, the Tony-winning ‘The Book of Mormon.’

Not coincidentally, the national tour of ‘The Book of Mormon’ will kick off in 2012 in Denver -- the city closest to the South Park of the TV series.
