Hollywood Bowl ticket prices to increase slightly for 2012 season

Attending a summer concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 2012 will be slightly more expensive for music lovers. On Tuesday, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors approved price increases between $1 and $6 for seats at the popular summer venue.
The L.A. Philharmonic attributed the price increases to rising costs associated with labor, production, marketing and artists. The orchestra leases the Bowl from the county.
A county spokesman said the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in favor of the price hikes. Last year, the board approved price increases between $1 and $3 for the 2011 Bowl season.
A spokeswoman for the orchestra said that the new price increases are expected to generate money for the Hollywood Bowl Improvement Fund, which goes toward maintenance, improvement and other expenditures on the venue.
The largest price increases will apply to the pool circle and box seats -- the sections closest to the stage -- during Saturday pop concerts.
The L.A. Philharmonic said that it will maintain the tradition of offering $1 seats for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday performances in the top 380 bench seats of the Bowl. The charge for parking at the Bowl will not change.
