‘Glee’ watchers know actress Kristin Chenoweth as the petite, alcoholic force of nature April Rhodes in episodes on Fox last season. The Emmy-winning actress (for ‘Pushing Daisies’) has been telling her fans that she would return to ‘Glee’ in the future and this week she announced via Facebook that her character will appear on the show next month.

‘Get ready April Rhodes fans,’ read the post on the actress’ Facebook page. ‘Kristin returns to the hit series Glee in just a couple of weeks! Tune in on May 3 for a Glee-tastic episode featuring Kristin!’

Chenoweth’s character is a high-spirited rabble-rouser with a drinking problem who was once a classmate of Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), the head of the high school glee club.

The show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, told TVOnline.com last month that Chenoweth will perform an original song titled ‘It’s 10 a.m., I’m Drunk’ in her upcoming ‘Glee’ appearance.

Chenoweth recently starred in the Broadway musical ‘Promises, Promises.’ The actress hinted last month via Twitter that she will be returning to Broadway in the near future. ‘I am comn back to broadway. Just ask Scott Ellis,’ she wrote. Ellis, the associate artistic director of the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York, directed Chenoweth in the 1997 musical ‘Steel Pier.’
