Mark S. Siegel elected chairman of the J. Paul Getty Trust’s board of trustees

Business executive Mark S. Siegel has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of the J. Paul Getty Trust. Siegel, who will assume his new post July 1, will succeed Louise H. Bryson, who has served as chair since 2006.

Siegel, who joined the board in 2005, chairs the trustees’ investment committee. He belongs to the governance and compensation committees and is a member of the Getty Museum’s conservation and villa councils.

The founder and president of ReMY Investors and Consultants, Siegel also is chairman of the board of directors of Patterson-UTI Energy. Previously, he worked as an entertainment and investment executive and practiced law in the entertainment and media industries.

Siegel is a past member of the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts and a former trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. He is a collector of contemporary and 19th century paintings and manuscripts.
