Broadway/LA announced Friday that nine shows will be coming to the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood as part of the 2010-11 season. Among the highlights are the touring Broadway productions of ‘Shrek the Musical,’ ‘Hair,’ ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Rock of Ages.’

A 10th show, ‘Traces,’ will take place at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre.

As was previously announced, the farewell engagement of the current tour of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ will run Sept. 23 to Oct. 17 at the Pantages.

‘West Side Story’ will open Nov. 30. The 1957 musical was revived on Broadway last season in a bilingual production directed by Arthur Laurents and went on to receive multiple Tony nominations, including one for revival of a musical. The Pantages run will end Dec. 19.

‘Hair’ will run from Jan. 5 to 23. The free-love musical was revived by New York’s Public Theater in Central Park in 2008 and then transferred to Broadway, where it won the Tony for revival of a musical. The production is directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage.

A circus-inspired show from Canada, ‘Traces’ will play at the Montalban from Jan. 11 to Feb. 20, 2011. The show is created by the Montreal company Les 7 doigts de la main (The seven fingers of the hand), which has performed at the Edinburgh Festival and will be making its L.A. debut.

The Tony-winning ‘Spring Awakening’ will return to L.A. with a brief engagement at the Pantages from Feb. 1 to 6, 2011. The musical, featuring music by Duncan Sheik, previously ran at the Ahmanson in 2008.

Rock of Ages,’ which had its beginnings at the King King club in Hollywood, will return to L.A. from Feb. 15 to 27, 2011, at the Pantages. The jukebox musical, which opened on Broadway last season and was nominated for five Tony awards, tells the story of an aspiring rock musician trying to make it on the Sunset Strip. The soundtrack features songs by such ‘80s rock veterans as Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar and more.

‘Rain – A Tribute To The Beatles’ is set to run April 12 to 17, 2011.

A tribute to Latin and ballroom dancing, ‘Burn the Floor’ will run April 26 to May 8, 2011. The production, which opened on Broadway last August, features 20 dancers from around the world performing various styles, including the Viennese Waltz, the Jive and the Paso Doble.

‘Shrek the Musical,’ based on the DreamWorks animated movie, is set to run July 12 to Aug. 7, 2011. The musical opened on Broadway in 2008 and closed last month. Jeanine Tesori composed the music and playwright David Lindsay-Abaire wrote the book and the lyrics.

An additional Pantages show will run March 9 to 20, 2011, but Broadway/LA has not announced the title.
