Just about every art gallery in town seems to have opened its fall season this weekend (with the notable exception of Culver City’s Blum + Poe, whose new mega-space across the street from its current digs has its debut Oct. 3), so already there’s a lot to see.

And despite the country’s economic troubles the fall museum-season is pretty rich. Potentially most revealing will be the Museum of Contemporary Art’s wall-to-wall permanent collection installation -- about 500 works -- in November to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its founding and, coincidentally, marking the one-year anniversary of its near-collapse from deep fiscal woes. MOCA has been pretty quiet lately, so stay tuned.
