Has pressure from people who actually care about theater persuaded CBS and the proprietors of the Tony Awards to reverse their decision to bump the best revival of a play award from the Sunday evening telecast so an additional musical number can be squeezed in?

Spacey is artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre, which originated one of the nominees, Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘The Norman Conquests.’ We’ll inquire further to check this out, and confirm whether that show will have its televised moment in the spotlight at Radio City Music Hall, along with fellow contenders ‘Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,’ ‘Mary Stuart’ and ‘Waiting for Godot.’
