Katie Holmes, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jeremy Piven have departed, but more film and TV stars will descend on Broadway in the coming months.

Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush (pictured) will make his Broadway debut in ‘Exit the King.’ He’ll star with fellow Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon in the Ionesco play, which will open March 26 at the Barrymore Theatre.

Also making his Broadway debut this spring is James Gandolfini, of ‘Sopranos’ fame, who will appear in Yasmina Reza’s ‘God of Carnage’ with Jeff Daniels, Marcia Gay Harden and Hope Davis. ‘Carnage,’ which recently ended a London run with Ralph Fiennes, will again be staged by Matthew Warchus. The play opens March 22 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

In March, Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen will appear in a limited run of ‘Impressionism,’ a new play by Michael Jacobs. It opens March 12 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

Tony-winner Mary-Louise Parker is appearing in ‘Hedda Gabler,’ now in previews at the Roundabout’s American Airlines Theatre. The play officially opens Jan. 25.

And, of course, Will Ferrell will bring his ‘You’re Welcome America. A Final Night With George W. Bush’ to the Cort Theatre beginning Feb. 5, with a March 15 opening set.
