Candidates may be running away from President Obama elsewhere, but not in California. Earlier this week, the president cut a new radio ad for Barbara Boxer. And on Friday, Obama is heading to California for an appearance to help boost the Democratic ticket, which finds itself on uncertain political footing less than two weeks before Election Day.

While the president’s approval ratings have fallen dramatically across the country, his approval in California remains high -- close to 60% according to the latest Field Poll. Organizers of Friday’s rally at the University Of Southern California have found out just how popular the president remains in California this week.

“Due to the large number of RSVPs for President Obama’s rally on Friday, the location has been moved to USC’s Alumni Park,” states an email from the Democratic National Committee.

The rally is scheduled for 11 a.m.
