Meg Whitman was at a campaign event at the offices of Cisco in San Jose while her former employee was accusing her of exploitation in attorney Gloria Allred’s Los Angeles office.

At Cisco, Whitman engaged in an onstage conversation with John Chambers, the company’s chief executive, who asked the candidate why business leaders run for political office because ‘you get attacked in ways that are unfair in many different directions.’

But, she added: ‘I care about California.’
