Barbara Boxer defended her vote against a guest worker program in 2007. She said the program ‘was so draconian that one of the newspapers said it was indentured servitude.’

‘It would have led to an additional 1 million illegal immigrants because people simply would have gone underground.’

She said she supported a guest worker program that was ‘humane,’ ‘clear’ and would lead to a path to legalization for immigrants who are currently working in the country. She said Fiorina ‘doesn’t want comprehensive immigration reform.’

Boxer said ‘there’s still slippage’ on the border, but that the borders are more secure now than they have been in years.
