Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday urged a federal judge to allow gay couples in California to marry immediately.

Schwarzenegger’s attorneys filed written arguments to U.S. District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who ruled Wednesday that the state’s gay marriage ban was unconstitutional.
