Gay marriages on hold as federal appeal looms

The U.S. 9th District Court of Appeals on Monday ordered gay marriages to remain on hold until the case is heard before the court.

U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker overturned the state’s gay marriage ban, Proposition 8, earlier this month but opted to give proponents of the measure a chance to appeal his ruling before allowing same-sex marriages to resume. The details are in L.A. Now.
