First Take: Prop. 8 backers move to stop new marriages. The GOP's Valley Girls.

Backers of Proposition 8 are quickly filed paperwork that would stop same-sex unions from beginning Wednesday.

Meg Whitman went on national cable news to blast lawmakers for not passing a budget on time, and said she could fix the problem by getting her administration "set up correctly."

Whitman and GOP Senate nominee Carly Fiorina have been touring the Central Valley looking for votes.

Fiorina says she does not support calls from some Republicans to take away citizenship rights for children of illegal immigrants who are born on American soil.
