Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley won the Republican primary for attorney general Tuesday, besting former Chapman Law School Dean John Eastman and Sen. Tom Harman (R-Orange.)

Both of Cooley’s opponents called him to concede the race Tuesday.

Cooley has been an outspoken critic of the state’s three-strikes sentencing law and ultimately resigned from the California District Attorneys Assn. over the issue.
