Debra Bowen shows her true colors

Secretary of State Debra Bowen has made an executive decision -- changing the color of her agency’s official homepage to green.

But not just any shade of green -- it was changed to Spartan green as the Michigan State alumnus rooted on her alma mater’s basketball team in the Final Four.

Though the Spartans lost Saturday to the Butler Bulldogs -- the Cinderella story of the tournament -- Bowen is still flying her colors on the secretary of State’s website.

She also posted a message. ‘Six Final Four trips in 12 years... Congrats to the Spartans... now, go Butler!’ writes the Class of ’76 graduate.

Butler is the underdog in Monday night’s championship game against the Duke Blue Devils. A Bowen spokeswoman said the site would revert to its regular color -- blue -- at the conclusion of the tournament.
