Swine flu: Watch out for those plush toys

Recommendations for preventing swine-flu transmission often take on strange forms, but one of the strangest is a new recommendation from British health authorities to remove teddy bears and other soft toys from nurseries.

The Times of London reports today that soft toys cannot be readily disinfected and thus pose a danger of passing the virus from one child to another. The authorities also called on nurseries to prevent children from sharing crayons and coloring pencils for the same reason.
