The Libyan justice minister has resigned in protest, a state news agency reported Monday.

Mustafa Abdul Jalil resigned to protest the ‘bloody situation and use of excessive force’ against anti-government protesters by security forces, the Quryna newspaper in Libya reported Monday.

The newspaper has been pro-government but recently has started to cover the protests taking place across Libya.
