Predictions, opinions, outrage, and a longing for the end of the Bush presidency were prominent in much of the Arab press as Americans went to the polls on Super Tuesday. Jafar Mohammad Ahmad, writing in al-Khaleej in the United Arab Emirates, had this to say:

‘Change has been the battle cry of the current elections, after the seven terrible years that America has had under the administration of current President George Bush. In fact, Hillary Clinton has gone as far as to compare her competitor Barack Obama to Bush, making the point that voters should not chose a candidate whom they know very little about as they did with Bush, and then be astounded by the direction the country has taken. . .This attack and critique on the eve of Super Tuesday sends a signal to Americans and the entire world that a change is needed in America, after Bush’s policies and wars and their disastrous consequences that will haunt us for years.’
