The style inspiration for Julia Louis-Dreyfuss’ character in her new HBO series ‘Veep’ was First Lady Michelle Obama. “Michelle Obama is the best thing that Washington, D.C., has seen in a long time,” lead costume designer Ernesto Martinez told the New York Times. [NYT]

An exhibition of gowns, letters and other artifacts that once belonged to England’s Princess Diana is scheduled to open June 16 aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif. The ship’s management has teamed with the Pink Ribbons Crusade (a breast cancer awareness organization) to put on the exhibit of more than 2,000 items, many on display for the first time.
