Elizabeth Banks, who plays the high-strung Effie Trinket in the film ‘The Hunger Games,’ has been busy firing up red carpets across the globe promoting her new film. She’s fully embraced this season’s spring brights and sequins in vibrant shades of orange and sparkles that would rival Miss Trinket’s most dazzling dresses. At the film’s premiere in Berlin she chose a deep orange, floor-length Elie Saab gown, in Paris a rose- and sequin-embellished sheath by Marc Jacobs, and in Los Angeles a neon orange Atelier Versace one-shoulder mini-dress.

Banks continued to dip into the orange hues at the Restoration Hardware spring 2012 launch party in Los Angeles last week in a tangerine, belted frock by Andrew Gn, Christian Louboutin metallic peep-toe mosaic pumps and woven teardrop earrings by Irene Neuwirth. The deep V-neck is fun and flirty while the belted, cinched waist offers a shape that will flatter a variety of body types at any age.

If you’re not quite ready to embrace the acid neons of spring, a color similar to Banks’ tangerine may ease the transition to a brighter color palette. Try the Calvin Klein sleeveless pleated dress from Lord & Taylor for $128, Jessica Simpson women’s V-neck belted cotton dress from Amazon.com for $98, Eliza J belted portrait collar taffeta dress from Nordstrom.com for $148 or the AK Anne Klein pleated fly-away front dress from Lord & Taylor for $119.

Banks’ earrings are simple, elegant and don’t compete with the color of her dress. For a similar pair get the threaded teardrop earrings from Forever21.com for $4.80. She went for a pair of metallic Louboutins to finish her look. Get a similar effect with the Rsvp Brendis gold metallic snake print pump from 6pm.com for $23.70.

All the bright hues are evidence enough that in the world of fashion, spring is in bloom.

Happy shopping.
