Socialite Olivia Palermo has become a regular fixture on the fashion circuit. Chances are you’ve seen the slender brunet photographed in the front row of almost every major show. New York Magazine’s 2007 ‘It girl’ has made a name for herself in the fashion world with her impeccable style. She’s known for appearing effortlessly put together in mix-and-match patterns, bold textures and mounds of accessories.

The 26-year-old has rebounded quite nicely from her brief stint on the reality television show ‘The City,’ where her frenemy antics awarded her villain status. Since the show, she’s signed with the Wilhelmina Models agency, launched a jewelry line with Roberta Freymann, been the face of the London label Freda and most recently scored a gig as the face of the new Rochas scent.

At the Topshop Unique show during London Fashion Week recently, Palermo was back in front of the cameras, embracing this season’s explosive prints. She wore a Topshop neon yellow top, black fur-trim blazer and Topshop trousers festooned with tropical flowers. Her feet were clad in leopard print.

For a similar pair of blooming spring trousers, try the Vila Oriental floral printed pants for $62.67 from Asos.com, the floral print trousers from H&M for $14.95 or for a more subtle pair get the floral print trousers from Zara.com for $79.90

Palermo’s solid black blazer, plain yellow top and slouchy camel tote balance the pattern, keeping the outfit from looking cluttered. Get the same effect with the Chiffon puff-sleeve blouse in ‘Dent De Lion’ from Americanapparel.com for $46 or the sleeveless neon yellow blouse from H&M for $29.95. Pair with a boxy double-breasted blazer from Forever21.com for $32.80, or the ruffle waist jacket, also from Forever21.com for $27.80.

Palermo took a risk by adding another pattern to her ensemble with the leopard print shoes but the combination works for an extra punch since the other pieces she’s wearing are solid. Try the Sam Edelman Portney heels in ‘new nude leopard’ from 6pm.com for $84 or for an enticing alternative to the heel get the Animal print tuxedo flats from Express.com for $31.43 or the Damiann booties by Steve Madden for $62.98.

In fashion, breaking the rules is always more fun.

Happy shopping.
