Fashion News: 'Celebrity Apprentice' cast to feature Cheryl Tiegs

January 5, 2012 |  8:47 am

The "Celebrity Apprentice" cast for the coming season is to include 1970s superstar model Cheryl Tiegs -- among others. The rest of the cast, announced Wednesday, includes comedians Penn Jillette, Arsenio Hall and Adam Corolla, actor George Takei ("Star Trek's" original Mr. Sulu), singer Clay Aiken, "Real Housewives of New Jersey's" Teresa Giudice, "American Chopper's" Paul Teutul Sr. and a lot of others -- 18 contestants in all. [Hollywood Reporter]

The top-rated overall diet for 2012 is the DASH diet, according to U.S. News and World Report's rankings. DASH, which stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, is more about health than weight loss. Weight Watchers was named the best weight-loss diet. [Los Angeles Times]

Meryl StreepMeryl Streep attended the London premiere of "The Iron Lady" Wednesday clad in blue -- a color frequently worn by the title character, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.  But is this a weird red carpet outfit or what? [Telegraph]

Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who designed some of the costumes for 2010's "Black Swan" film, will try their hands at designing opera costumes, as our Booth Moore reported Wednesday. They're creating the costumes for the Los Angeles Philharmonic's May production of Mozart's "Don Giovanni." [Los Angeles Times]

Oops. French retailer La Redoute has caused le scandale with an ad for children's clothing that features happy youngsters frolicking on a beach in the foreground -- and a naked man (and we mean full frontal naked) emerging from the surf in the background. [Styleite]

Speaking of nudity, a contestant on "24-Hour Catwalk," a new fashion reality series set to debut next week on Lifetime, apparently bared it all (or at least his behind) when he got stressed out on the show. And judge James LaForce streaked the set in his underwear and socks. Should be fun to see how they edit this one. [WWD]
