Karl Lagerfeld is designing a capsule collection for Macy’s, featuring limited-edition women’s apparel that will be sold in about 235 Macy’s stores and online starting Aug. 31. The collection includes dresses, airy tops, tees, jackets, leggings and modern tweeds, with prices ranging from $50 to $170, Macy’s announced Wednesday. Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising director, says in a news release that nabbing Lagerfeld -- perhaps best-known as creative director of Chanel -- marks a ‘very fashionable milestone’ that ‘adds a new dimension of attainable luxury for our customers.’ That’s a vest from the collection at left. Gwyneth Paltrow is one busy woman. Between launching a new country music career, appearing on the small screen as a guest star on ‘Glee,’ appearing on the big screen in ‘Country Strong’ and writing a cookbook, she’s also starring in Coach’s fall advertising campaign. She’ll appear in glossy magazines around the world, except apparently in the U.S. That’s because she is the ‘international ambassador’ for the 70-year-old American brand. [Telegraph]

Sofia Vergara, who plays the bombshell wife Gloria Delgado Pritchett on ‘Modern Family,’ looks great and credits at least some of that greatness to a balanced beauty regimen. She believes, she says, ‘Everything in moderation... not too much food, not too much exercise.’ [People]

Drew Barrymore stars in Neiman Marcus’ fall advertising campaign. It’s only the second time the department store has used a celebrity in its ads since 1994. [WWD]
