It’s almost Memorial Day, which starts us thinking about warm summer holidays and lazy days by the pool. If you’re of the same mindset, then buying a cute bathing suit is likely on your list of things to do.

A new crop of swimwear designers in Southern California is putting a fresh spin on swimwear options, eschewing cumbersome hardware and typically “summery” pastel prints, and instead creating simple, understated and elegant (yes, elegant) bathing suits that work on the beach or as streetwear layered under a sundress or tank top.
