December 14, 2010 |  8:36 am

Ryan Gosling, who just picked up a Golden Globe best actor nomination for his work in "Blue Valentine," is going to show you "how to dress like a movie star" as the cover boy for the January issue of GQ[Celebrity Gossip]

Fashion photographer Mario Testino shot January Jones for Versace's spring ad campaign wearing accessories. Only accessories. [WWD]

Singer Avril Lavigne launched a junior's line two years ago at Kohl's and is kicking things up a notch now with a rock-inspired line that will sell on the Web and in boutiques around the world.  [WWD] (Subscription required.)

For some interesting takes on the little black cocktail dress, meet designer Meredith Fisher of Charles Henry. Barely out of college, Fisher has an innovative, sophisticated approach to this staple of most women's wardrobes. [Mondette]

We've been noticing two-tone or two-material boots (think black and tan, or polished leather and suede together) on shoe store shelves (and women's feet) all season. If you're ready to dip a toe in, FabSugar has a look at a nice sampling.

With cotton prices on the rise, denim designers are looking to fabrics like Cupro, MicroModal, Tencel, viscose and rayon as alternatives. [WWD] (Subscription required.)
