High heels undoubtedly make a woman feel sexy, but after wearing them all day (or night) a girl’s feet need to come back down to earth and take a breather. Sisters and super stylists Maryam and Marjan Malakpour (the Rolling Stones, Heidi Klum and the Dixie Chicks are a few of their famous clients) created Newbarks, a flat slipper-looking shoe that are buttery soft and come in everything from a perforated white to shiny, cracked metallic leather.

The shoes are a luxurious but still stylish way to take a break from heels or boots, and don’t lookas demure as a ballet flat, as casual as a sneaker or as, um, trendy as an Ugg-style boot.

The luxe slipper quality of the shoes makes them an especially good gift for the jet-setting friend or family member in your life. We’ve included them in our 2010 Image gift guide, along with a slew of other amazing items that will leave you inspired to get that perfect present for all the personalities you’re buying for this year.

Check out the 2010 Holiday Gift Guide, this Sunday in the Image section.
