Your morning fashion and beauty report: Kate Middleton, newly engaged to Prince William, has down-to-earth style. And Zac Posen won't be designing Bella's wedding dress in 'Twilight.'

Well, finally! Clarence House has announced the long, long, long anticipated engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. [LAT] All the Rage cannot wait for the royal wedding next year, of course! But meanwhile, don't expect Middleton to turn into the fashion plate the prince's mum, Diana, was. Instead, her style is described as fresh and simple, relying on jeans, cowboy boots and tailored jackets, like the one over her party dress above. [WWD]

The always fashionable "Gossip Girl," whose three lead characters and the actresses who play them are fashion's latest "It" girls, as our Melissa Magsaysay explained in a recent article, is going to set a story line at W magazine, when one character gets an internship there. [WWD]

Zac Posen tweets that, contrary to rumor, he isn't designing Bella's wedding dress for "Twilight: Breaking Dawn." [Fashionologie]

American Apparel is coming out with 12 new shades of nail polish, inspired by Los Angeles and with names such as Echo Park (concrete gray) and MacArthur Park (muted yellow). [StyleList]
