Spring arrives this weekend, roaring and shaking its pollen-covered mane. That means it’s time to retire the Red Wing boots to the back-of-the-closet shoe rack in favor of lighter seasonal footwear like a buck or moc.

I’m really digging these Cole Haan navy-red-and-white saddle shoes ($198), part of the brand’s Cole, Rood & Haan heritage styles from the 1920s (there’s also a women’s version in violet/white).

These saddle shoes, which some might not have worn since parochial school days, are updated with a Nike Air Sole -- in case you need to dash out and refill the parking meter on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The Air Colton Saddle is among shoes featured in Cole Haan’s new spring ad campaign ‘The Inspired Life,’ shot by fashion photographer Todd Selby. The ads showcase tastemakers, including tennis player Maria Sharapova and James Bond -- the dapper founder of the local Undefeated sneaker shops, not the dashing 007 agent -- wearing their Cole Haans.
