The skies are still a little cloudy and it started to sprinkle about an hour ago, but I doubt that will dampen anyone’s big turn down the Oscar red carpet.

From what I’m hearing, the night’s big colors will be cream and white, two-toned frocks may be one big trend, alerts are already going out about stars wearing loads of fine jewelry, and there may even be body art painted on an actress or two -- hopefully something more elegant than “Avatar” blue stripes.

Jewel tones are always a safe bet and usually look pretty stunning on those who choose to wear it. Speaking of jewel tones, rumor has it that a certain best actress nominee’s dress color will be a nod to the author who inspired the best film contender.

But you never know until the actor or actress steps out of the town car and onto the (hopefully dry) carpet.
