In the festive run-up to the Academy Awards, a fashion and art-heavy crowd gathered at the Prism gallery on Saturday for ‘Araki: A Perspective,’ showing works by noted Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, who recently shot Lady Gaga for Japanese Hommes Vogue. Checking out Araki’s erotic and floral prints were past Academy Award winners Adrien Brody and Marisa Tomei along with Jeremy Piven plus Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon, Liz Goldwyn, Guinevere Van Seenus, Cordula Reyer and Devon Aoki. Singer Avril Lavigne also dropped by on the arm of Brandon Davis.

Fiat heir Lapo Elkann was in town from Italy for the Vanity Fair party and to meet with potential distributors for his Italia Independent made-in-Italy menswear collection, which he was suited up in from head to toe. “Italia Independent would give a modern elegant and Mediterranean look to L.A. men, which I humbly think they would need,” he said.
