Alexa Chung shows that when one door closes another opens (hello, Conan O’ Brien). MTV’s “It’s On With Alexa Chung” went off the air in December (Chung is reportedly still under contract with MTV), but she came back on the fashion radar with Mulberry’s Alexa satchel-style handbag out this month (available online for $950 to $1,595). And now, the British-born TV presenter is partnering with J.Crew’s younger sister Madewell for an exclusive Alexa Chung for Madewell collection debuting this fall. Shockingly, erstwhile style icon Chung had never collaborated for any other label.

The Alexa Chung for Madewell will showcase the brand’s accessibly priced chic denim jeans and key pieces hewing to her ‘irreverently sexy tomboy look.’ “This partnership came together organically and is a great fit as the brand is so classic and really encompasses my style,’ Chung said.

By the time the line hits stores and online this fall, Chung might have already snagged another hosting gig, perhaps on NBC’s in-flux late-night roster, further cementing her style icon status.
