Anna Sheffield is as versatile as she is busy. From a diffusion line for Urban Outfitters to a collection celebrating Cole Haan’s 100th anniversary, the New York-based jewelry designer has had her hands full with a growing brand and more collaborations on the horizon, most notably a line for Target which hits stores Aug. 30.

Sheffield’s has a fine jewelry and costume line, both of which have an old world, hand-hammered feel. The lower-priced Bing Bang collection has antique-inspired charms, draped chains and engraved rings, while her eponymous fine jewelry collection is daintier and incorporates rose gold, champagne diamonds and garnets. The designs have even caught the eye of several brides-to-be who appreciate the Sheffield’s subtle approach to using precious stones and metals in her jewelry. “I’m getting a lot of people asking for wedding rings,” said Sheffield during a visit to the L.A. Times today. “They’re into using rose gold and champagne diamonds, not the usual stuff, something more unexpected.”

I’ve noticed this with a few recently engaged friends, who’ve opted for using rose gold and nontraditional settings and stones for their engagement rings. If this trend sticks, perhaps we’ll see a wedding collection from Sheffield in the future…
