L.A. designers: are you living the tweet life?
For a story in this Sunday's Image section, I asked a handful of local designers what they were doing to
communicate their vision and connect with their customers in the face of the faltering economy. While many are ramping up their presence on the information superhighway through blogs and Facebook fan pages, a few adventurous souls have merged into the fast lane by hitting Twitter, the micro-blogging, social networking service that blasts 140-character messages, musings and hyperlinks to fans and followers.
At a Daily Candy mixer last night, I had a bang up time chatting with Jodie Dolan and Hillary Justin, the creative director and head designer, respectively, of L.A.-based Dolan Clothing, which joined the Twittersphere just last month (they tweet as @dolanclothing). Which got me wondering, on the eve of the most fractured and disjointed Los Angeles Fashion Week in recent memory, who else in the L.A. fashion community might be a Twitter.
So, if you're a designer, publicist, student or simply a follower of the city's fashion scene and you're living the "tweet life," drop us a line (better yet, send us a direct message over at @LATimesIMAGE) so we can make sure you're on our radar. And remember, if you're tweeting anything having to do with L.A. fashion week, add the hashtag #LAFW at the end.
