Fall is upon us and what better way to usher in the brisk weather than with a flannel shirt in a graphic lumberjack plaid? It’s toasty, soft and makes you feel like you’re on your way to go apple picking or jump in a pile of leaves somewhere in New England.

It also seems to be quite a trend this season, from the runways of Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana to the hipster haven Urban Outfitters.

I found what I think is the perfect plaid button-down in the little boys department of Target. It’s only $14.99, has a nice slim cut and the sleeves are automatically ¾ length, which makes them perfect for a little roll and scrunch action. The only weird thing is that it comes with a black jersey hood attached, which I quickly cut off so as not to look like I should be downing Capri Suns while zipping around on a Razor scooter. The leftover seam of the hood actually works to make the shirt’s collar stand up, for a little preppy flair.

This shirt is also very cool because, as my husband pointed out, it’s exactly like the one Alec Baldwin wore in “Beetlejuice.” Well, I guess I know who I’m gonna be this Halloween…

I’m wearing the Target version to work today. Check it out.
