Halston: the house with nobody in it

WWD reports that Halston will show its collection next week at MOMA in New York sans a fashion designer. Marco Zanini exited in July after showing just one collection, and it’s been whispered that Roland Mouret might have been up for the gig. Keep in mind that the brand is a lot like Liz Taylor when it comes to finding the right man. Bradley Bayou and Randolph Duke are among the many who have designed for the big H. (See La Liz and Halston, right.)

It’s no surprise to me that Halston could be having trouble replacing Zanini. The house may be more hostile than Halston right now. A constellation of egos surround this brand -- Harvey Weinstein, Tamara Mellon (of Jimmy Choo) and celeb stylist Rachel Zoe, to name a few -- and I can’t help but wonder if there are too many names on the label.
