Chuck Madden, longtime L.A. sports radio announcer, dies at 61

Chuck Madden, 61, a longtime Los Angeles sports radio anchor, died Friday, KNX-AM (1070) announced.

Madden, who lived in Valley Village with his wife, Jolie, had suffered a series of strokes and been diagnosed with leukemia.

Besides doing sports reports for KNX, Madden had also worked for KABC-AM (790) KMPC-AM (710) and Fox Sports Radio (570).

The funeral is scheduled for noon Monday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 5649 E. Pittman St., Simi Valley.
